Miriam Romayne “Nan” DeCotes, 92 of Decatur, passed into the arms of Jesus at 3:10 am. Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Fairhaven’s Christian Home.\nA Funeral Service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 pm. Friday, September 29, 2017 in Life Builders Church of God (833 West Pershing Road Decatur, Illinois 62526) with Jeremy J. Smith officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be at Harristown Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church or the donor’s choice. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.\nMiriam was born in Binghamton, New York in May of 1925 the daughter of Ray and Flossie Stone Dickerson. She married Armin DeCotes in July of 1943. He preceded her in death in November of 1997. Miriam was an Ordained Minister by the Church of God in Anderson, Indiana. She was a member of Life Builder’s Church of God.\nSurviving are her daughters, Donna R. (George) Branstine of Brighton, Missouri, Kathleen T. (Dan) Sigmon of Decatur, Illinois, Elizabeth A. (Ron) Blakeney of St. Peters, Missouri, Tanya L. DeCotes of Decatur, Illinois, son-in-law, Jim Hinton of Bolivar, Missouri, grandchildren, Kamie Jo Meador, Jodii Hinton, Scott Smith, Shaun Blakeney, Heidii Hinton-Fox, Jeremy Smith, Barbie Moran, Shannon Hancock, twenty-six great and two great-great grandchildren.\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one great-great grandson, Judah Weikle.\nMiriam was a wonderful Mother, Nanny and Nanny Great, and she will be deeply missed.
