Otoniel Delgado

Otoniel "Toney" Delgado, 55 of Decatur died Wednesday (March 9, 2005) in St. Louis University Hospital. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm. Tuesday March 15 at Christian Fellowship Church with Pastor Norm Etnier officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 pm. Monday at the Church. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Christian Fellowship Church. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service Inc. is in charge of arrangements.

Tony was born in July of 1949 in Santurce, Puerto Rico, son of Confesor and Francisca Nieves Delgado. He was raised in Chicago, IL., from a young age by his mother. Tony worked for the Decatur Public Library for 12 years in custodial service. He was a devoted Christian man who loved the Lord and received him as his savior in 1971. He loved and spent a lot of time at the Christian Fellowship Church.

Tony is survived by his wife Karen Schuman Delgado, his children, Angela and husband John (Bearley), Robert and wife Joanne (Torres), Jeanne and husband Jim (Holmes), Karen and husband Bob (Morthland), Otoniel II and wife Brittney (Manning), Mark, Jean and husband Matt (Wilson), 12 grandchildren, 2 brothers, 4 sisters, mother and husband Rafael (Olivo).

He was preceded in death by his father, 2 brothers, Elezier (Lolo) and Isachad (Chan).

Tony was a great husband and father and will be missed greatly by his family and friends.

His family would like to thank the Doctors and their staffs at Decatur Memorial, St. Mary's and St. Louis University Hospitals for their kindness and care during Tony's Illness.
