Phyllis Jean Harvey, 86 of Decatur, died Thursday, August 12, 2021 in St. Mary Hospital.\n\nA Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 11:00 am at New Beginnings Church of God (2606 IL-121, Decatur, Illinois 62526) She will be laid to rest at a later date. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and care is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to New Beginnings Church of God or the Macon County Humane Society.\n\nPhyllis was born in April of 1935 in Scottville, Illinois daughter of Lawrence Claussen and Cleo Wolfolk.\nPhyllis enjoyed her small-town life growing up on the farm with her brothers Donald and Jerry. She graduated from Northwester Highschool. She worked for Department of Conservation for the state of Illinois. Some of her favorite things in life were animals, and nature. Phyllis married Gary Harvey in October of 1957, and he preceded her in 2017. She was happiest when she had her whole family around and could cook for them. Phyllis was a member of New Beginnings Church of God.\n\nSurvived by her son, Doug Harvey (Griselda); daughter, Robin Harvey; grandchildren, Andrew Harvey, Danny Gerhardt, Arthur Gerhardt; Great grandchildren, Preston Gerhardt, Camila Gerhardt. We’re sure going to miss her hugs!\n\nPreceded by husband, Gary Harvey; her parents, Lawrence and Cleo Claussen; brothers, Donald and Jerry Claussen.
