Phillis Lee Holmes, 85, of Decatur went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 12, 2017.\nA funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Harvest Christian Center (2199 N. Water, Decatur, IL. 62526), with Pastor Kirk Henneberry officiating. Visitation will be one hour before service time at the church. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.\nPhillis was born in December of 1931 in Kinkaid, Illinois, daughter of Tony and Millie Moses. She was a homemaker and member of Harvest Christian Center. She enjoyed country western movies and was a Chicago Cubs fan and loved playing Solitaire.\nSurviving are her children, Carolyn Wilkinson, Robin Holmes, Michael Holmes, Robert Holmes, Larry Holmes and wife Raisa, twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, half- sister, Toni Marie (Larry) Wicker, step-sister, Darlene (Dale) Dial.\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, eight siblings, two sons, Orville Holmes and David Holmes.\nThe family wishes to express special thanks to the staff at Fairhavens Christian Village for the great care given to Phillis.
