Sandra L. O’Brien of Decatur, Illinois passed away on January 28, 2020, at Fair Haven’s Senior Living Center.\n There will be a service at a later time. Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care is assisting with the services.\nShe was born in April of 1942, the daughter of the late Clyde O. Lawrence and Marie Richardson. Sandra was married to the late David E. O’Brien. She was a housewife after retiring as a state worker. In Decatur she was a factory worker for many years. She loved thrift store shopping and loved all of her grandchildren. She loved feeding the birds and swinging on her back porch.\nSandra is survived by her sons Carl F. Doolen, Jr. of Franklin Furnace, Ohio, and Mark A. Doolen, Sr. of Decatur, Illinois; stepdaughters Monica O’Brien of Decatur, Illinois, Vonnie Budds of New Hampshire; and stepson Todd O’Brien of Arizona. Her grandchildren are Krystal Richardson, Amber Andes, Mark A. Doolen, Jr., Joseph Doolen, Ty Doolen; step granddaughters Krystal Burdick, Madison O’Brien and Joseph O’Brien as well as several great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, three sisters and her husband, David E. O’Brien, and stepson Brett O’Brien.\nThe family would like to thank Jessica Robinson and Katrina Gramigna for their special care for Sandra and a special thank you to niece Delrene Berg for being by her side.
