Stephanie (Stephie) Marie Shelton, 35 of Decatur passed at 7:48 am on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Health with her parents by her side.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at The Cross Church (3253 N. Brush College Road Decatur, IL 62521) Pastor Andy Troyer will be officiating. The visitation will be held an hour before at the church. Memorials may be made to Stephanie’s parents Bill and Tammy Russell. Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.

She was born in September of 1989 in Decatur, daughter of Tammy and Bill Russell. Stephanie went to Sunnyside and Decatur Public Schools graduating from MacArthur in 2011. She loved being able to socialize and be around the other students and staff at school. Stephanie was a very brave girl and strong fighter. She enjoyed spending time with her family, letting the wind blow through her hair while she rode on the golf cart, being out in nature camping, and listening to music. She will be remembered most for her beautiful smile, energetic laugh and cute little yawns when she was sleepy. Stephanie will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Survived by her parents Tammy and Bill Russell, sister Chelsie (Cody) Cannon, brother Harley (Kaylee) Russell, Niece Gracie and nephew Liam, Grandpa Bill and Grandma June Mears, Grandpa Bill Russell, Grandma Mary Shelton, Aunt Amy (Loren) Dresback, Aunt Tracy (Dale) Schnaare, Uncle Chris Mears, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Stephanie now has her perfect body and is walking hand in hand in heaven with Grandma Kay Russell, Great Grandma Mears and Great Grandpa Mears, Great Grandma G.G., Aunt Lynn, Uncle Dale and her best friend Kasarah.
