RICHARDS\nSteven Michael Richards, age 48 of Forsyth, died Thursday, July 23, 2020 at the scene of a one vehicle accident.\nA Private viewing and burial will be held. A memorial service celebrating Steven's Life will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 11:30 am in Tabernacle Baptist Church (650 N. Wyckles Road Decatur, IL. 62522) with Pastors Carlton Binkley and Chris Merritt officiating. Memorials may be made to the New Life Pregnancy Center. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.\nSteven was born in December of 1971 in Sullivan, Indiana the son of Dwight and Joann Richards. He graduated from Robinson High School in 1990 and earned his bachelor’s degree in Ecology, Evolution and Environment from Southern Illinois University- Edwardsville in 1994. He was an entrepreneur, starting many small businesses, notably R&R Services since 2005. Steven was a member of and served as a deacon at Tabernacle Baptist Church of Decatur. He married Amy Jo Helt in March of 1994.\nSurviving are his wife, Amy Jo Richards, two daughters, Lauren Elizabeth and Sydney Ellen, his parents, Dwight and Joann Richards, siblings, Judy and Mark York, Mary Bradbury, Marcia Richards, Dale and Jennifer Richards, Stacy and Rod Netherly, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.\nSteven was a faithful, hardworking, humorous servant. Steven grew up in Robinson, IL., surrounded by extended family and friends. His older brother Dale was his baseball coach for little league. Steven met his future wife Amy in the third grade. He started a small business with just a toolbelt, that grew into a wonderful partnership with his best friend Jeff Rose, which provided employment for ten other families. He loved his girls and spending time with them was among his favorite things. He had a quick wit and applied great one-liners from every movie he had watched. He loved 80’s rock and roll and enjoyed audio books.
