Stuart Lee Whitfield passed away at home peacefully with his family by his side on February 28, 2018.\nA memorial service to celebrate Stuart’s life will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (#1 Bacharach Court, Decatur, Illinois) beginning at 11:00 am. Saturday March 3, 2018. Visitation will be two hours before the service time at the church. Memorials can be made to St Paul’s Lutheran NEXT Capital Campaign. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.\nStuart was born in January of 1956 in Des Moines, Iowa, to George Dwayne and Joanne Lee Whitfield.\nStuart was a highly trained and successful autobody technician specializing in frame and heavy collision work. He took pride in his work on every vehicle. Stu was a charter member of Pheasants Forever and was also a lifelong member of the SKI Klub of Illinois. He loved water skiing, boating, fishing, bird hunting, and NASCAR. His grandchildren were his pride and joy.\nStuart leaves behind his wife Janet and daughters Lisa Jo Whitfield (Joey) Webb, Holly Whitfield (Jason) Henderson, and Lisa Marie Kelsheimer (Bryan) Miloser. Grandchildren Dakota, Karlee, Whitlee, Logan, Brynlee, and Maverik. Brothers Craig (Gail), Brian (Deb), and Jeff (Jean) Whitfield.\nNephews Steve (Laura) Whitfield and son Gavin, Chris Whitfield and daughter Megan, Brandon (Joni) Whitfield and son Owen and niece Lindsey (Colton) Hart.\nExtended family, Terry and Lynn Corley, Danielle (Andrew) Melson, Michelle, and Katie.
