Stuart A. “Stu” Wolken, 83, of Oreana, Illinois departed to be with Jesus from his residence on Friday, July 20, 2018.\nA funeral service to celebrate Stu’s life will be at 11:00 am. Thursday, July 26, 2018 in St. John’s Lutheran Church (2727 North Union Boulevard Decatur, Illinois 62526). Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 am. Thursday also at the church. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery Decatur. Memorials may be made to the Church, to The Northeast Community Fund or to The New Life Pregnancy Center. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.\nStu was born in Decatur in September of 1934 the son of Rollie R. and Nettie E. Wolken. He graduated from Decatur High School. Stu served in the U.S. Army 1954 to 1956. He was Plant Manager at A.E. Staley MFG. retiring in 1992. During his time at Staley’s he was a member of the Instrument Society. He was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Stu married Ileane Miller in February of 1955 and she preceded him in death in June of 2012.\nSurviving are his daughter, Susan Reuben of Oreana, grandson, Michael (Cacee) Reuben of Edmond, Oklahoma, granddaughter, Sarah (Quentin) Jordan of Argenta, great grandsons, Tristan and Kaden Jordan and great granddaughter, Lilana on the way, special sisters-in-law, Edie and Esther, special friend and fishing buddy, Ron Junior.\nHe was preceded by his parents, wife, brothers, Ralph and George Wolken and sister, Florence Kubow.\nStu loved his family and the Lord, hunting, fishing and shooting were his passions. He was a wonderful dad, and very special grandpa to Michael, Sarah and the great grandkids. He will be deeply missed.
