Terry Lee “TC” “Preacher” Ceroni, 61, died Monday, August 2, 2021, in St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur, Illinois.\n\nThere will be a memorial service on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the North Grove Christian Church, Leaf River, Illinois, with Brother Steve Ceroni officiating. Memorials made be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to the Family.\n\nTerry was born in September of 1959, in Freeport, Illinois, the son of Leroy L. Ceroni and Joan Murray. Terry was the eldest of six siblings: one brother followed, then four sisters: Annette, Laura, Mary and Lisa. He had fond memories of his time spent on the Ceroni family farm with his siblings, grandparents and Aunt Joyce. Terry was a 1977 graduate of Dakota High School and attended Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois for pre-law courses prior to entering the U.S. Army. He studied at Berean Bible College prior to becoming a licensed minister to pastor two community churches, from 1998 to 2021. Terry enjoyed serving at Crossroads Community Church with his wife and family. He believed his time there prepared him well for ministry. He was the Pastor of North Grove Christian Church in Leaf River, Illinois. Additionally, he was a machinist for many years at Microswitch and NOR Service in Freeport, Illinois.\n\nTerry served in the 82nd Airborne as an Army Ranger. He married Donna Parks on December 20, 1980.\n\nHe is survived by his wife, Donna; one son, Anthony Lee Ceroni, one daughter, Fionna (Jadie) Thingvold; three grandchildren: Camden Ceroni, Gabriella (Gabby Jo) and Nolan John Thingvold; one brother, Steven (Michelle) Ceroni; sisters, Annette (Steve) Rouse, Mary McKenzie, Lisa (Dave) Bernet, and many nieces and nephews.\n\nHe was preceded by his father, Leroy Ceroni, mother Joan (Murray) Ceroni, and sister, Laura (Ceroni) McCabe.
