Veda Helen Lowe Obituary (2022)

Veda Helen (Meyer) Lowe, 94 of Decatur died Thursday August 4, 2022, in her residence. Funeral service to celebrate Veda’s life will be held at 11:00 am. Monday, August 8, 2022, at Moundford Free Methodist Church (1803 East Mound Road Decatur, IL. 62526). Visitation will be one hour before at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Moundford Free Methodist Church. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is handling the arrangements. Veda was born in December of 1927 in Kinmundy, Illinois the daughter of Chris and Sarah Helen Meyer. She graduated from Kinmundy High School in 1945. She was an active member of the Moundford Free Methodist Church. Veda married William “David” Lowe in February of 1947. He preceded her in death in 2020. Surviving are her daughters, Sharon Schmeltzle (Barry), Joy Tucker (Ron), Marilyn Rockhold (Rich), grandchildren, Vonda Hamilton (Nathan), Tami Hadley (Jay), Toby Tucker (Cherisa), Stephen Rockhold, Michael Rockhold (Lindsey), great grandchildren, Ashton Gilbert (Tyler), Zabryna Ross (Jack), Charis Hadley David Thompson, fiancée), Tyson Tucker, Sarah Rockhold, David Rockhold, James Rockhold, Isaac Rockhold, very close friend, Verna Coleman, numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband brother, George Meyer and sisters, Ruth Phoenix and Viola Meyer.
