Virginia Lee Laurie, 68 of Decatur passed on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

A prayer service to celebrate Virginia’s life will be held 5 pm on Friday, October 9, 2026, at Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care (2442 North Route 121 Decatur, Illinois 62526). A visitation with family and friends will be held an hour before the service, Pastor Derek Bradshaw will be officiating. Memorials can be made to the family. Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.

Virginia was born in October of 1957 in Decatur, daughter of Richard and Charlotte Hauck. She graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1974 and worked for CHELP as a caregiver. Virginia married Larry McGeehon until he preceded her in October of 2021, she then married Ivan Wayne Laurie in September of 2022. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband Ivan Laurie, and son Larry McGeehon Jr.

Preceded in death by her parents, first husband Larry, son Wayne McGeehon and brother Richie Hauck.
