Roy Roe Hacker, 79, of Blue Mound, Illinois, died Sunday, August 5, 2018, in St. Mary’s Emergency Room.
There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, August 8, at 2:30 pm in Croninger Cemetery, Cisco, Illinois. Tanzyus Logan is in charge of arrangements.
Roy was born in Virginia, Illinois, the son of Clarence Alfred Hacker and Marian Hacker in December of 1938. He served in both the Marines (1956-1958) and the Army Reserves (1958-1962). He married Edith Darlene Wolfe in April of 1972. He retired as a Local Union #669 Sprinkler Fitter.
He is survived by his wife, Edith; son, Michael Roe (Wendy) Hacker; daughters, Amanda Marie (Hacker) Banning, Sandra Marie (Hacker) Hayes-Burt (James Burt), and adopted daughter, Amber Marie Hacker; grandchildren, Zoey Darlene Hayes and Kaci Darlene Hayes, and step-grandchild, Ashton Riley Burt. Roy is also survived by his siblings Donna Jean (Hacker) Austin, Rosco Everett (Hacker) Strong , Charles Edward (Hacker) Barnes, Beulah Mae (Hacker) aka Donna Ray Kilpatrick, and Benjamin Franklin Hacker.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Samuel Eugene Hacker and Raymond Lee Hacker.
His favorite things were computers, fishing, country music, fresh fruit, Payday candy bars, fish frys, and family.
