Todd will be remembered by everyone for his love. First his love for Jesus and his salvation, what that meant for each of us. He prayed always for each of us to know Him so we could all be together again in Heaven.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at 4:00 pm at Boiling Springs Church of God (2350 Boiling Springs Road, Decatur, IL) with Pastor Rich Riley officiating. There will be a visitation at the church from 2:00-4:00 pm on Sunday as well. Burial will be at Boiling Springs Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Boiling Springs Church of God or WLHS Basketball Program, c/o Coach Vic Binkley, or The American Kidney Foundation. Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care is assisting the family.
Todd was born May 15, 1972 in Decatur, IL, the son of Robert Yokley and Janice (Mills) Yokley. He was a graduate of Stephen Decatur High School. He worked at Sinclair Broadcast Group and Owner/Sport Director of Central Illinois Conference Website. Todd was a member of Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame and Friends of Basketball at Warrensburg-Latham.
His deep love for family, and joy he had for being with them. Todd never missed a celebration, gathering or sporting event. He took pride in all his nieces and nephews and their accomplishments. Always quick to congratulate and brag. His heart was close to his siblings and he treasured all three.
He is survived by sister Teresa (Yokley) Walden and husband, Jim, their children Holly Niewold and Jason Walden; sister Becky (Yokley) Slusarski and husband, Robert, their children, Michael Slusarski and Katie Slusarski; and brother Jeffrey Yokley and wife, Vicky, their children Brittany Bredar and Joshua Yokley. He was preceded by father, Robert Yokley and mother, Janice Yokley.
Todd had a sibling love for his special friends as well; Angie, being loved like a sister and Brian as close as a brother. They shared so much over the years. We all appreciate their bond and contribution to Todd’s joys in life.
Lastly a magnitude will remember Todd for his love of all things sports– St. Louis Cardinals baseball, Steelers football and WLHS athletics at the top of the list. He was a wealth of information and stats, scouting teams and keeping records. His love for WLHS basketball is unmatched. The hours spent with Coach Vic and the team were some of Todd’s happiest hours.
We thank you all for loving Todd. We will miss his smile.
