Wendy Hacker (Shoemaker), 47, of Popular Grove, IL, died Monday, December 7, 2020, in Javon Bea Hospital (Rockford, IL).
There will be a graveside service on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 2 p.m., in Croninger Cemetery, Cisco, IL. Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care (Decatur, IL) is in charge of the arrangements.
Wendy was born in Carpentersville, IL, the daughter of Todd and Marilyn Shoemaker in November of 1973. She graduated from Dundee Crown High School, Carpentersville, IL. She worked for Mercy Health Care, Rockford, IL. She married Michael Hacker in September of 2001.
She is survived by her husband Michael Hacker, parents Todd and Marilyn Shoemaker (Hampshire, IL), step daughter Amber Hacker (Decatur, IL), grandmother Shirley Shoemaker (Genoa, IL), and many aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, extended family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather Thomas James Shoemaker (Carpentersville, IL), grandfather Corliss Russel, and grandmother Betty Russel (Carpentersville, IL), uncle Ray Russel (Hampshire, IL).
Wendy had a passion for animals. She loved adopting/rescuing dogs and cats from local shelters and providing a lovely home for them until it was their time to pass over the Rainbow Bridge. Her favorite pastimes included taking care of her pets, reading, listening to rock music, camping, and spending time with family and friends. She belonged to the Chosen Crue motorcycle club and enjoyed taking part in social gatherings, club events, and rides. She will be forever loved by her husband, family, friends, and pets.
